Young Belgian, Julian Vander Auwera has some European experience but he’s made the decision to make a big jump up for the 2021 season.

Vander Auwera will step up to race the MX2 World Championship and he will try to contest every single round of the series including the fly away rounds.

For the season ahead, Vander Auwera will be under the Everest Husqvarna Racing awning which will also see a new team stepping up to the World Championship series.

“Well, the decision to be an MX2 rider this year was taken with my parents, my trainers and of course myself. There wasn’t a defined special deal but the sponsors were completely good with it. Therefore we decided to move up with the big boys. My decision came because, simply I don’t like the EMX250 program with just “hot laps” to qualify, I would say that it doesn’t really suit me. Even if I m completely aware of the fact that the MX2 program is really complicated, much harder and it’s not going to be easy. But I love being challenged, I put on myself a big challenge but I m training as hard as I can”, Auwera told GateDrop.com.

“My expectations are really simple. There is no particular objective. The first thing is to do my best every single lap in all the races I will do and finish every races. Try to improve race by race step by step. I’ve got a lot to learn and I m ready to accept it mentally and physically. For this season I really like to say a big thank you to my parents for believing in me since day one, and doing everything to help me accomplish my dream. A big thank you to my mechanic, all my sponsors that help me throughout the next season and a big thank you to my trainers. I’ll be racing with the 181 so see you guys at the GP’s”, concluded Auwera.
